About The Event
Want to be part of a fundraising effort to support talented refugee students as part of the UWC Refugee Initiative?
We are once again holding the UWC Refugee Initiative Benefit Gala, which was highly successful last year, on November 15. The goal of the initiative is to educate the next generation of leaders from among the most marginalized groups of today’s world, who in turn will become role models for the millions of young refugees aspiring to make a difference. Funds raised will support talented refugee students.
For this year's program, we have secured Vartan Gregorian, Co-founder of the Aurora Humanitarian Initiative (who is also a funder of UWC) and President of the Carnegie Corporation, as our honoree for the evening. We wil also have very inspiring alumni speakers such as James Bicamumpaka (WK), Dr Grace Wanjiku a Carnegie African Diaspora fellow (LPC) and Eleanor Beaton (USA) as our Emcee.
We are looking for multiple VOLUNTEERS to help with the event logistics and we could really use your support as UWCers who can share with donors what a unique experience UWC is! Please fill in this form if you wish to help out and be a part of this event and indicate your availability. The first shift starts at 1PM and ends at 4PM, and the second shift starts at 6PM and ends at 8PM. We look forward to having you there. Thank you.
