UWC Goes to the Beach - August SSS!

Feel the sand between your toes on August 12th! For the 7th year running, we'll be enjoying the sun and waves at the beach in Far Rockaway for our August SSS. The afternoon will be toasty, so expect to take some dips in the water to stay cool and bring lots of sunscreen. Thanks to our very own surfing aussie Shan Bannirchelvam (UWC USA '07) there will be optional surfing lessons starting at ~2:30 PM.  

The ferry is the most scenic way to get to the beach! We'll meet at the Queen Elizabeth II Garden in the Financial District at 11:10am and take the 11:29am Far Rockaway ferry together. Please try to make it in time to take the ferry with the group. If you do miss us, we can send you your tickets via WhatsApp so you can still get on a later ferry. We will go to the beach around the 109th st entrance and will coordinate on our exact location via WhatsApp. You're welcome to return to Pier 11 on any ferry.

Your ticket includes:

• Round trip ferry tickets to Far Rockaway - originating at Pier 11
• A bagel lunch
• Light refreshments at the beach

Remember to bring sun protection, swimwear, and a towel! 

For those of you surfing, we'll help you arrange board rentals from Surf's Up NYC and you'll pay for them directly at the beach.
