UWC Dinner for Sudan

For the first time since the pandemic, UWC Dinners are back!

Join us for a community dinner to support the UWC Sudan National Committee. Due to the onset of civil war in April, the committee has an urgent need to cover additional costs for students that are beyond their scholarships, such as flight tickets and unforeseen travel expenses. Additionally, two existing scholarships have lost local funding and need to be topped up. 

This event is a pay-what-you-can fundraiser dinner catered by Sambuxa NYC. Thanks to the incredible generosity of Gladys Shahtou, Sambuxa’s founder who’s donating the food, every dollar will go towards supporting UWC Sudan and their 18 scholars currently at UWC. We're aiming to raise at least $2K and we are sure with your generosity we can raise even more. 

Can't make it to the dinner but want to contribute? You can also buy a ticket!  Either way, your contribution is fully tax deductible

On the menu: 

• Sambuxas: Halal beef, feta cheese and dill, veggie
• Agashe: Sudanese Chicken skewers coated in peanuts and spices
• Ful: Fav bean stew with pita
• Aswad Salad: Eggplant peanut butter salad with pita bread
• Dakwa Salad: Scallion, tomato, feta cheese salad with peanut dressing, served with Pita bread.

We'll also have Baobab and Hibiscus juice and assorted drinks.
