About The Event
The film offers an intimate account of the case through the voice of Giulio's family and his lawyer, Alessandra Ballerini, tracing the events surrounding his disappearance and the long pursuit of accountability that followed.
Directed by Simone Manetti and written by Emanuele Cava, the 96‑minute documentary is presented in Italian with English subtitles and situates Giulio’s story within a broader discussion of human rights and academic freedom and in the context of potential risks faced by scholars conducting international field research.
Presented in collaboration with the AIRIcerca New York Chapter, the screening is part of Casa Italiana Zerilli‑Marimò’s ongoing free public programming dedicated to the academic study of Italian culture, history and contemporary global issues, vis-à-vis dialogue between Italy and the United States.
