Curious about AI beyond the headlines—through the lenses of global history, philosophy of technology and political economy? Computational historian Unso Jo (UWCSEA ’09) is teaching A Global History of AI this spring at Cornell Tech on Roosevelt Island. The graduate level course will welcome guest speakers including investor and bestselling co‑author of Blitzscaling, Chris Yeh; VC, angel investor and lawyer, Ed Zimmermann and early‑stage investor Dylan Itzikowitz, among others.

 

Unso is an Assistant Research Professor of Linguistics and Information Science at Cornell University. She is also the Founder and CEO of Gena.co, an AI research and product startup that uses text‑to‑SQL technology to expand access to data and streamline data management through its flagship database platform, Genabase.com.
